K-5 CCS Students have a very special opportunity to participate St. Jude Math-A-Thon®. By participating in this awesome community service event, students will raise funds to help support St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. Over the years the St. Jude Math-A-Thon® has raised millions of dollars for St. Jude's patients. CCS students will also gain benefits while raising money for this great cause. As they have fun working to solve the math problems on their appropriate grade level, they will also be learning and improving their math problem solving skills in various ways. The St. Jude Math-A-Thon® is aligned with PA Common Core Standards, in an effort to allow students to practice and reinforce age appropriate skills in mathematics.
The St. Jude Children Hospital in Memphis, TN was founded in 1925. It is one of the world's premier pediatric cancer research centers. Its mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. On average, 5,400 patients from all over the country are treated each year at St. Jude's Hospital. It is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatments not covered by insurance.
